Irish Life & Permanent with a score of 60 points, retain its top position in the H&H Webranking Ireland 2008 for the second year in row. On second place we find the building giant CRH and Allied Irish Bank comes third. Irish corporate websites have improved since last year but are still lagging behind its neighbouring countries.
”Irish Life & Permanent shows overall good performance in all the section included in the survey. Especially a lot of CSR (corporate social responsibility) information, good structure and front page with links to highly valued information.“ Says Marcus Eriksson
The average score for Irish companies has increased since last year and is today ranked at number 13 out of the 20 countries in the survey, an increase since last years 15th position out of 18 countries. Challenges for Irish companies remains in sections such as Corporate Governance, Press Information and we rarely find enough contact information on Irish corporate websites.
The low average score for Irish companies may be due to the fact that the country has no clear leader. For example the highest ranked Irish company, Irish Life & Permanent, has the same score as the average score for German companies.
Climber
Allied Irish Bank is this year’s best climber with an impressive 10 points improvement. Other companies that improved their score from last year are the building giant CRH (+4), and the beverage company Kerry Group (+2.25)
