H&H Webranking SwitzerlandSwiss financial daily NZZ published the Switzerland H&H Webranking 2007 results today. UBS retained its number one position, with Swisscom and Crédit Suisse rounding out the best performers this year. Average Swiss performance is only on par with the overall European competition, and their momentum this year has slowed considerably.

Milan, December 21, 2007 – UBS successfully retained its position as the top ranked Swiss corporate website in the 2007 edition of the H&H Webranking, scoring 83 out of a possible 100 points. Swisscom came in second with 77 points and Crèdit Suisse placed third with 74.5 points.

New entrants to the top ten included Roche, Georg Fischer and Richemont, coming in 5th, 6th and 9th place respectively. Roche was also this year’s ‘most improved’ website in terms of score, followed by Givaudan and Georg Fischer.

The average score of the 62 Swiss firms was 50.9 points, slightly below the pan European average (for all 630 companies in the combined country rankings) of 51.2 points. This year’s average was up 1.4 points from 2006, in marked contrast to the 6.3 point increase in the Swiss average from 2005 to 2006.

‘The progress of Swiss corporate websites has slowed this year’, stated Joakim Lundquist, head of H&H in Switzerland. ‘Aside from the very top performing companies, Switzerland needs to improve in order not to fall behind its European counterparts. Swiss corporate websites need to move beyond a simple disclosure-driven model in order to communicate in a more complete and transparent manner’, continued Lundquist.
