The swedish business daily Dagens Industri published the Swedish H&H Webranking results today. The article is once again focusing on Swedish corporate websites are losing their former lead to their European competitors
The tobacco company Swedish Match retained its number one position for the third year in a row, with a score of 82.5 out of 100 points. On the second place we find Swedbank with 80 points and the packaging paper company Billerud with 76.5 takes the bronze together with consumer goods and paper company SCA.
“Swedish Match wins for the third time in a row since they continue to develop their website and always are up to date on new trends and requirements from the capital market. We believe that this is necessary in order to be best in class in online communication. For financial and share-related information, which is the largest part of H&H Webranking, Swedish Match received the highest score of all companies included in survey." says Marcus Eriksson, responsible for the study.
Best Climber
The title for best climber in Sweden this year goes to the silver medalist Swedbank, the company has increased its score with an impressive 16.5 points.
"Swedbank has significantly better results in areas such as general company information and improved technical features ", says Marcus Erikssson
Other companies that have improved their score significantly from last year are SEB, Ericsson and SKF.
The Swedish average
The average score for Swedish companies is somewhat lower than last year, unfortunately a continuing trend from last year. This year we find Sweden on 7th place after neighbouring countries such as Finland and Norway.
It is mainly in areas such as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), the use of technical features and information for job seekers that Swedish companies are slipping behind its Europeen competitors.
Swedish companies are still among the best in terms of financial information and corporate governance; areas which have great importance in the survey. "There is still a high demand for transparency, according to the survey. Sweden and other Nordic countries have a long tradition of openness and transparency and often presents good examples of clear information about board work and remuneration. "said Marcus Eriksson.
Employer branding
H&H Webranking has this year expanded the survey to asking questions to young professionals all over Europe on what kind of information they are looking for and how they behave online. The ranking result shows that Swedish websites have received lower score than most of its European competitors.
